What do you mean what do I mean? Eros-and-Thanatos is one of those compact engines for organizing our cultural situation.  Desire and death have been the terminals that have electrified my creative energies and sent me spinning; searching for meaning in a blurred hand, a shadow without identifiable source, a mouth captured mid-word

For me, each picture is half dark, half light. Like the earth, half sun, half sleep. The images I dig, are more than just appealing (“I like this”), they should have the force of a summons. There’s something about them that’s spellbinding. And they don’t have to be big (sometimes quite small works may do the heavy lifting) and the materials don’t have to be expensive (I’m quite partial to cardboard and scraps of found paper).  While every show or publication is like a perpetual summit crisis as you hope that viewers can follow you down the rabbit-hole.
