Eros and Thanatos - Barbie on the Beach

Eros and Thanatos is part of an ongoing investigation into the ambivalent qualities of soft sculpture, which are anthropomorphic bodily forms that elicit associations of both, eroticism and decay. The subtitle Barbie on the Beach gives the theme of sex and death a location: the beach is a venue of fun and self-representation but also bodily exposure.
