BEA BUCKLAND-WILLIS
Idiopath
Idiopath acts as a distorted self-portrait of the artist and their complicated relationship with their own recovery journey. Playing with print-based installation practice, Buckland-Willis confronts the medicalisation of the healing body, creating their own visual language for their discomfort. Reclaiming their body through documentation and ritualisation, they challenge what it means to be ‘cured’ and question their future prospects with equal amounts cynicism and optimism.
