Thresholds
Threshold – (2) the margin that must be exceeded for a certain reaction, phenomenon, result, or condition to occur or be manifested.
Thresholds is an immersive experimental performance space that explores the tension between the threshold and a series of colliding everyday moments. The intensity, duration, and meaning of a single moment has little impact on the threshold’s margins, however collectively the series of moments works away at the margin. As they accumulate the margin shifts continuously until the threshold is slippery and difficult to identity.
The space is filled with tools to push at the margin; objects that aid in escapism, relaxation, and exertion, the kind that causes us to need to retreat in the first place. Inhabiting Thresholds is an exercise in trying to keep the balance, identifying the array of margins that personally speak to you in order to establish a framework for understanding your personal thresholds.
