Liquid and Solid

Liquid and Solid, an exhibition featuring Helena Bezzina’s work Zoom Gardens, from 2021 and Anne Kay’s Mapping colour from 2021-2022 brings together two differing approaches to the practice of drawing with contrasts in terms of representations of virtual and concrete space. Helena’s work Zoom Garden, is comprised of approximately 100 portraits; quick sketches of people drawn while on in innumerable Zoom video conference meetings during lockdown. While Anne’s, Mapping colour, presents abstracted landscapes directly addressing the material form of paper; with crumpled topographical representations of landscape forming bas-relief images.
