AUDREY NEWTON & YELIZ YORULMAZ
Thinks About Thinking, Not Thinking and Non-Thinking
Audrey Newton and Yeliz Yorulmaz's installation examines the unformed, unreachable, and sometimes persistent ideas that artists can sometimes find impossible or even fail to materialise. This installation was incited by Franz Kafka's creature called The Odradek, which appears in his short musing, The Cares of a Family Man. The Odradek is a mysterious star-shaped spool with loose hanging threads and has an anthropomorphic, foreboding, and irritable presence similar to our unformed, unreachable and persistent ideas.
