The Catchment
Exploring the Cooks River catchment, as an ecological reality and cultural community.
PUBLIC PROGRAM
Sunday 3 November, 2-3pm
Reading the River: A PowerPoint Party
Part of Inner West Council’s Creative Trails Midjuburi.
Urban rivers like the Cooks have been so altered over time, that it can be difficult for anyone to understand how it works…or doesn’t. By understanding the urban ecology, we can begin to understand the challenges to rehabilitating the river.
Join Environmental Engineer Alexa McAuley, Taylor Coyne (@swamp_city__) and Jason L’Ecuyer (Cooks River Alliance), for a PowerPoint Party on Sunday November 3, as we discuss how to interpret the complex landscapes of an urban river.
This is a free event and open to all. Drinks provided by Heaps Normal.
1 - 17 November
The River Shopfront
Open Wed—Fri, 1—4pm, or by appointment
Part exhibition, part pop-up office, ‘The River Shopfront’ opens the doors to the Cooks River catchment community to listen, learn and discuss the revitalisation of the river.
Pull up a chair, grab a river-related book, make a cuppa and share some of your hopes for the river. A member of the CRA team will be in the ‘shop’ during designated hours during the exhibition. They may be joined by community members from a local group, to answer questions about what’s happening throughout the catchment.
Acknowledgements
