Muddy Temple
Muddy Temple considers ideas of self and flight, of always returning to the same place.
The mark-making process of working with paint, charcoal, wax and oil sticks to layer and overlap using the hands recalls the feeling of walking and pushing through muddy water. An act that alters the levels of pace, control and distance of time and recognises the materiality of painting that is intrinsic to the work.
